Because I have worked in intense studio environments in both college and various architectural offices, I have become skilled at time management in terms of working on multiple projects at the same time, while meeting demanding deadlines. Furthermore I have gained great experience and skill in working as part of a team, having done so as design team member on various projects in my time in architectural practice. I also believe my leadership skills have progressed greatly as I am regularly asked to co-ordinate team tasks and projects by lecturing staff in my current studies.
Interests and Hobbies
I am very passionate about spoken word and stand up comedy performance. I have been performing as an amateur stand up comedian in Dublin for the past three years. I have performed in many major comedy venues in the city along with some in other towns and cities around the country. I have been awarded “Best New Act” in 2009 & 2010 by leading Dublin comedy clubs. I really enjoy performing and I find it has helped greatly in building my confidence and communication skills in all areas of my life. I was heavily involved in setting up the inaugural Kells Comedy Festival in 2008, and helped attract some of the country’s top acts to the festival for a sell out weekend, while also performing myself. In 2009 I took over as co organiser of the festival and I look forward to the challenge of helping it grow in the coming years. The profits from the festival go back to the local community and help with the running of the Kells Summer Festival, at which I also run events.
Moreover, I am very interested in sports. I play Gaelic Football and Rugby for my local clubs. I have represented my club, county, school and college in the above mentioned sports very successfully, winning County, Provincial and National honours in each. I spend much of my spare time reading, attending concerts, and going to the cinema. I am also a keen traveller; I have visited many European countries and cities.
